The BA/BSc (Hons) Accounting and Management degree is designed for those of you who want to study a professionally accredited undergraduate degree in accounting and financial resource management to enter careers in accounting and finance, banking and also general industry, public and voluntary sectors, alongside the theory and practice of management, the programme will help develop your critical and analytical abilities, leading to expertise in accounting and management and a successful career in your chosen, related field.

You will develop and enhance your skills in accounting methods and financial management techniques designed to assess and improve company level financial performance. You will graduate well-prepared to take up the challenge of addressing complex accounting and management issues in your future work.

Accountants and managers must work closely to interpret financial data and influence business performance. By understanding how both commercial functions operate, their priorities and unique vocabulary, you can work more effectively as a team to deliver organisational success.

Accountancy isn’t just about being good at numbers. It’s about being able to analyse and interpret information, spot trends, identify issues and opportunities, and communicate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.

BA/BSc (Hons) Accounting and Management

During the course you will study the core areas of financial and management accounting and, after the first year, a range of optional management and finance modules will allow you to tailor your degree to your areas of interest. The accountancy element covers the core areas of financial reporting, management accounting and business finance.

The management element will enable you to explore areas such as marketing, organisational behaviour, strategy, information systems, human resource management, entrepreneurship and ethics.

This BA/BSc (Hons) Accounting and Management course provides you with accreditations and exemptions from the following professional bodies:

  • The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)
  • The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW)
  • The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA)

This means that you are able to gain a professional qualification by taking fewer exams when you graduate, giving your career a head start.

Course Length:  3 years / 4 years including Foundation year;

Start dates:  January / May / September

Entry requirements

  • Minimum Age: 18 years old;
  • Applicants are required to submit proof of prior certificated learning (e.g. Secondary School Diploma/Baccalaureate/Level 3 qualification) and/or relevant work experience;
  • Applications from mature candidates without formal qualifications are welcomed provided they could demonstrate appropriate levels of relevant ability and experience.
  • If you are unable to meet the entry requirements for this course you may still be eligible for our Foundation year course. This is an extra year of study to prepare you for the full degree.
  • Applicants who do not have English as their first language will be required to demonstrate an approved level of proficiency in the use of the English language.
  • Applicants must bring their original certificates when coming for registration;

Funding

Self-Founding

The Tuition Fee of the course will vary depending on the institution you wish to study in, as well as your status in the UK. The course is available for UK/EU and International Students as well. Please contact us to find out the tuition fee for a specific course you’d like to know about. 

Government Founds – Student Finance England                                                                                                         

If you are an UK/EU citizen or living in the UK on Indefinite stay, you can receive support from the government via Student Loan Company to cover tuition fees and some living costs while studying, depending on your circumstances. Tuition fee loans, to cover the full cost of your course, are paid directly to the course provider. Maintenance loans can be applied for at the same time, lending you money at the start of each term. You won’t have to pay back the loan until after your course, when you’re earning above a certain level.  Students can still apply for grants if they’re eligible for certain benefits, disabled, or need help with childcare costs.
