The Beauty and Spa Therapy Level 3 Diploma aims to provide you with a range of specialist technical practical skills and knowledge, which will equip you to seek employment or further training within the Beauty & Spa Therapy Industry.

This course will give you an advanced understanding of the industry and a high level of practical skills and knowledge required to follow a career in Beauty Therapy.

This is a comprehensive qualification combining the full range of skills and knowledge for students seeking employment or self-employment as an Advanced Practitioner in Beauty and Spa Therapy making them highly employability at Level 3.

Beauty and Spa Therapy Level 3 Diploma

Working in salon, you’ll learn about electrical facial and body treatments, dry spa and wraps, a range of massage therapies including traditional and aromatherapy techniques, as well as gaining an understanding of the health and safety issues that you need to know about in the beauty and spa industry.

You’ll do additional work experience to test your practical knowledge and boost your employability, maths and English skills as part of the programme.

Candidates must have people skills, be self-motivated and have determination and drive to complete the necessary theory as well as the practical elements of the course.

Achievement of this qualification demonstrates to an employer that you have the skills and knowledge of health & safety, customer service and also have the necessary advanced technical skills such as body massage, body and facial electrotherapy to be employed as a Senior Beauty/Spa Therapist.

Course Length: 3 – 6 months;

Entry requirements

Applicants must be 19+, motivated to study with a clear intention to progress to a higher education course;
There are flexible qualification requirements for admission, but all applicants will be interviewed during the admissions process.
Applicants will need to take a diagnostic assessment of literacy (unless already qualified to Level 2 in English and Maths);

Assessment

There are practical and theoretical classes which will help each student develop a portfolio of evidence for verification. There is some case study/project work. Practical skills are developed on fellow students – once a level of competence is reached clients are to be used for assessment. You will be assessed practically, theoretically and orally in all areas.

Progression

Once you have completed the Level 3 Diploma in Beauty and Spa Therapy you can progress on to other equivalent qualifications at Level 3 and 4 qualification like beauty Treatments, Advanced beauty Therapy, Salon Management, or to higher education courses.

Government Funds – Student Finance England

If you are an UK/EU citizen or living in the UK on Indefinite Stay, you can receive support from the government via 19+Advanced Learning Loan to cover tuition fees costs while studying, depending on your circumstances. These loans help learners aged 19 and over, to pay the fees charged by approved colleges and training organisations in England.

You can get a tuition fee loan to cover your full course fees. You only start to pay back your student loan after you finish studying and are earning over £21,000 a year.
