International Business Communications BA/BSc (Hons) Top-Up will help you develop an appreciation of common challenges that have a daily impact on business and organisational life. You’ll gain a global view of the challenges and opportunities in the world of international business, and develop the cross‐cultural communications skills appropriate for a business context. This course will enable you to communicate effectively in English, the language of global business, alongside the study of leadership, management and communication across national boundaries with cultural understanding and awareness.

The International Business Communications BA/BSc (Hons) Top-Up  equips you with the necessary knowledge, skills and awareness to operate appropriately and effectively within a global economy, and to ascertain an enterprising spirit. You will develop your English language proficiency (both written and spoken) in an international business context, and an understanding of cross-cultural communication necessary to embrace global citizenship.

International Business Communications BA/BSc (Hons) Top-Up

This programme combines in-depth learning with the chance to experience business in action within another culture. Ideal for students considering a career in international management, you will develop the skills and knowledge you need to begin your career in business, wherever in the world it takes you.

You’ll have the opportunity to study specialist content modules in a wide range of business topics as well as to develop the necessary project management and research skills, giving you an advantage, whether going on to postgraduate study, or getting that first job.

The International Business Communications BA/BSc (Hons) Top-Up course offers a very good balance between developing English language skills and knowledge of business. The Business Communication module uses topic areas to focus on the linguistic requirements in doing business and offers the opportunity to students to engage in effective communication in various business environments as well developing awareness of different cultural approaches in business situations and appropriate language demands.

By the end of the programme, you’ll have the knowledge, skills and aptitude to work across local, regional, national and international (especially cross‐cultural) boundaries. You will develop a deeper understanding of the dynamics and issues facing international business and intercultural communications, and a critical mind, enabling you to offer realistic solutions for the successful growth of international businesses.

Entry requirements

  • The (Top-Up)  course is designed for applicants holding a Level 5 qualification such as a Higher National Diploma, or other equivalents or have completed the second year of a relevant and comparable degree;
  • Applicants must have a relevant HND or a foundation degree with 240 credits in any Business and/or Management related areas;
  • Applicants who do not have English as their first language will be required to demonstrate an approved level of proficiency in the use of the English language;
  • Qualifications are checked before enrolment by the institution where you’ll apply;
  • Students must bring their original diploma when coming for registration;

Funding

Self-Funding

The Tuition Fee of the course will vary depending on the institution you wish to study in, as well as your status in the UK. The course is available for UK/EU and International Students as well. Please contact us to find out the tuition fee for a specific course you’d like to know about.

Government Funds – Student Finance England    

If you are an UK/EU citizen or living in the UK on Indefinite stay, you can receive support from the government via Student Loan Company to cover tuition fees and some living costs while studying, depending on your circumstances. Tuition fee loans, to cover the full cost of your course, are paid directly to the course provider. Maintenance loans can be applied for at the same time, lending you money at the start of each term. You won’t have to pay back the loan until after your course, when you’re earning above a certain level.  Students can still apply for grants if they’re eligible for certain benefits, disabled, or need help with childcare costs.
